A Dash of Blue

Card for the challenge FTL 125:

Tis the season to be jolly right? Ok maybe I'm a tad bit early on making Christmas cards, but you can't blame me! I need to make 25 Christmas cards and normally I make each one different. It takes a lot of planning to come up with an idea of everything I want to create. After seeing Clean&Simple challenge this week I couldn't resist turning it into something I could use at Christmas time, but I didn't know it'd be the pattern I'd want to use to make the rest of my cards! I'm so happy to find something so simple and easy to work with. My Christmas card I'm going to recreate over and over this year is pictured below.

Start of Christmas Cards

Hello fellow crafters! After teaching all week I really enjoyed sleeping in and then getting time to craft! It's extremely relaxing sitting down and creating a card or two. Below are my creations from today. I did two Christmas cards since I need to get started on planning and making 20 cards by Christmas! Last year I didn't plan enough time to make that many, but this year I'm determined to meet that goal. The pink card at the bottom is just a random card that can be used for anything. I looked through the button stash today and found the perfect button to complete it. All of the paper came from Memories Galore and the Merry Christmas stamp (first card) is out of a Christmas stamp set I got forever ago from Stampin' Up. Hope everyone is having an amazing weekend! I'll be back next week with more card creations.

Happy Crafting,
Amy

The ornaments were cut from patterned scrapbook paper.

Birthday Bee

This is my first time making an easel card. It was so easy and I absolutely love it. I think all of my Christmas cards should be easel cards so they can be displayed around that time of year. The bee images came from Bugaboo Stamps as one of their freebies. I absolutely love it! The birthday stamp is from a birthday stamp set I got from Michaels Craft Store ages ago.

This card was entered into:

Purse

This was my first attempt at making the paper purse/handbag. I may use it to put candy, lip gloss/chapstick, or candy to give to a friend once I'm really good at making them. It didn't come out as stylish as I wanted it to, but it's still cute. I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do with it yet. I knotted a little bit of the yellow ribbon from my stash on both sides. The paper is double sided and came from the Memories Galore scrapbook store.

Now I'm not sure when I'll create another card to post on here. I know I say it everyday and something always manages to get up here. This week has been a bit busy and I'm finally going to get around to picking up a bunch of books I've got on hold at the library tomorrow. Hopefully I can catch up with my reading this weekend instead of making cards. My fingers are crossed because I'm not sure if I can stay away from my craft table for too long! At least one day I'll be away from it because my best friend is coming over to hang out. It's hard with conflicting schedules to find time to hang out so it's much needed.

Sorry for the glare, but the paper has a metallic shine to it.

Gate Fold Card

Hey everyone! I'm sorry I haven't posted in awhile, but my schedule has been keeping me busy and I haven't had time to make cards. Hopefully that'll change soon and I can create a lot more cards. I've been collecting ideas of what I'd like to create next. I'd love to get back into doing some of the card blog challenges here at some point, but for now it's just going to be my own creations.

I used the tutorial on YouTube (above) to make my own version of the Gate Fold Card. Mines a bit more simplistic looking. Next time I'm going to try to do a version of this card more detailed. I'm going to research more about shaker cards and try to make one of them sometime soon.

My Version:

I tucked the card under my card box just so you could
see how it would look closed.

Two Get Well Soon Cards

I feel like my blog has been neglected for awhile. Anyways I was digging around in one of my pictures boxes and came across an envelope filled with card stuff I didn't finish from a Stampin Up workshop I took forever ago. I didn't remember what the original card looked like, but I came up with two ideas. I used up all of my get well soon cards so I was thrilled when I found these. I hope everyone enjoys them. I've got one card at my craft table that's still in progress that will get posted later on this week. I need to dig around in the button jars and find a big brown button so it'll be perfect.

Goodbye Cold and Hello Bahamas!

I was on vacation all week there won't be anything new to look at right this moment. I'm hoping to create some new stuff to put up starting next week. As of now I'm going through at least 800 pictures trying to decide which ones I want to scrapbook and coming up with some new projects to post. That's just an extremely small taste of what I experienced. I can't possibly fit everything on here. My explanation of the trip would be too long to fit here. I need to figure out how I'm going to work it into my scrapbook. Hope you enjoy the pictures! I miss the warm weather of the Bahamas, but it's wonderful to be back home.

Pictures for Pictures Sake?

I know I love to scrapbook and make cards. They're by far two of my favorite things to do every day. My camera has fallen to the waste side while I’ve been focused on those activities and I don’t use it as much as I would like to anymore. I need to find every possible reason to take a picture. I've been in love with taking pictures since I can remember. Although, some from when I was little is absolutely horrible! My goal for this year is to take tons of pictures and update everyone on my day to day happenings. I'm sure some of the pictures won't be the most thrilling or furthermore interesting. Some of them might come out scary! Can you imagine sick pictures, odd smiles, or closed eyes? I can! I'm not a model. Sometimes it takes five pictures to get exactly what I want in a picture. Instead of making a new page I'll add everything on here. Hopefully by doing this I'll improve my photography skills. Also, it gives my family and friends a bird’s eye view into my life.

Tags/Cards

So today I made a few tags to use for next December since I had precut paper sitting around to make them. I also made two birthday cards since I noticed that's the one section of my file box that needs to be replenished. The card with the dragonfly stamp came out of one of the set of stamps I got for Christmas. I can't wait to experiment with all of my stamp sets. The card on the left was made using scraps from my stash.

First Card of 2011

It's officially 2011!! I hope everyone had a safe and happy New Years Eve. I spent mine at a party with some amazing friends and I made some more amazing friends while I was there. Today was definitely eventful as well, but I managed to get one card made this evening and I'm so excited to share it! I got a bunch of Stampin Up stamp sets for Christmas and I couldn't wait to create a card for 2011 with one of the sets. The oranges are from my Stampin Up set, but the thank you stamp is apart of a set I got from Michaels a long time ago. The paper is all from my favorite scrapbook store Memories Galore! I'm going to add some tags on my blog, more scrapbook pages, and maybe some other cute paper projects. The one thing I'd love to do this year is integrate my friends projects on here and  maybe some of my other hobbies such as poetry or photography. Keep your eyes peeled for some amazing projects this year!

Ok now I just ran across the cutest card on a Stampin Up demonstrators page I'd just love to try! The link is posted below. I just find it really simple and cute.

As I promised before here is a group pictures from the Christmas and New Years Eve parties.
