Jingle Bells

Hope everyone is getting into the season. I love it that 98.1 plays Christmas music constantly through Christmas day here. This is my favorite version of Jingle Bells. Barbra Streisand makes it so much fun! I won't be posting/making any cards iuntil after the holidays since my file box of cards is too full.

Pink Mood

I realized I've been in a pink mood lately. Every card I made lately has the color pink in it. Everything for this card came from my stash. I rubbed the pink ink I used to stamp the image to go around the torn edge and on the circles some. The sparkly ribbon on the side makes it even more girly. I think I've gotten rid of thee majority of my pink paper so I can go through my other cards and come up with some cute ideas.

Today's Cards

The paper I bought at Memories Galore recently, the ribbon is from JoAnn Fabrics, and the believe cardboard piece came from my stash.

The 'a' on the pepperment card is a sticker from my stash. All of the paper I got from Memories Galore.

The bird image in the frame is glossy so I'm sorry about the glare. The image came from Phizzychick on http://www.craftster.org/. The border was in my stash and the blue paper came from Memories Galore. As you can tell it's where I buy all of my paper.

I won't be posting any cards on Thanksgiving, but hopefully I'll craft some over the weekend to post. I hope everyone has an amazing Thanksgiving tomorrow!

Geisha Card and Updates

I got a bunch of these Geisha girls from a swap on http://www.craftster.org/ and finally found some cool papers in my scrap paper drawer to make this card. I really liked how it turned out and plan to do different versions of cards with her on them.

All of my scrapbooking and cardmaking will be boxed up after Thanksgiving until around January. Don't worry that just means I'll talk about what I've been reading, post pictures of things I've been up to, and random thoughts.

My sister came home for Thanksgiving break and tomorrow we're going to prepare everything for Thanksgiving when my uncle and grandparents should arrive.

I hope everyone has an awesome Thanksgiving with their family!

Freebies

I ran across this blog today while I was searching.. http://bodilsscrappeverden.blogspot.com/
It has some of the most adorable free digital images for people to use on their cards! I printed out a few to do on my cards that you might come across at some point.

Some other websites of interest when I researched are as follows:
The internet is full of great resources for scrapbooking and cardmaking if you just look! Cardmaking and scrapbooking have a million resources available so let your creativity flow.

Hearts, Stars, and Butterflies

I'm sorry about the glare on the papers. The picture comes out bad with or without flash because of the type of paper I used this time around. I worked on four cards today, but only finished the three below. The other one I'm thinking what I want to add to it to give the card more visual interest.

The heart card I used my wavy cutter on the edge of the card. Again I apologize for the glare! I really need to find a way to take better pictures of these cards that have shiny textured paper.

This card has white ribbon in the middle.

I hope everyone is looking forward to Thanksgiving as much as I am! I can't wait to have some of my family here to celebrate it with me. I'll post some more cards very soon.

Only $6?!

I finally got around to visiting Memories Galore today! I swear it's my favorite scrapbook store with a wide range of everything imaginable for cardmaking and scrapbooking. This is everything I came out with after my shopping trip all for about $6 because I used my $20 off. I've got a card so I accumulated enough over time to finally get it. The two white papers if you can't tell one has shiny white cupcakes and the other is polka dots. I'm pretty much set on paper for next month.

Pearls & Roses

What girl doesn't want pearls and roses? For this card I individually pulled apart and placed the sticker pearls to this card. The bow has a pop-up sticker underneath of it and the thank you sticker's roses are also pop-up. All of this came from my stash. If you can't tell the top of the card is punched with the same light pink as the square and layered underneath the circle patterned paper.

Coordinating Paper

Isn't it crazy how you can have so much paper, but it doesn't coordinate? It's this problem that has me organizing everything so I can go to the scrapbook store for this coming week. I also appreciate all of the comments I'm getting on my challenge cards! Any comments or tips are greatly appreciated. As always be on the look out for more cards and projects!!

FTL117 Sketch and Challenge Entry & C4C64

I thought I'd go for a really girly looking card for this challenge. I don't normally do pink, but I thought I'd give it a shot. I'm not sure I want to give this card away now haha. The thank you sticker has a pop-up butterfly on it (came that way) and I added pop-up stickers to the flowers and brads as well. I also used my flower border punch at the bottom of the pink paper to keep with my flower theme.

The supplies from this project were leftover from various projects.

I bought everything from the following stores:
Michaels Craft Store
Memories Galore
JoAnn Fabrics

http://craftycatzweeklychallenge.blogspot.com/2010/11/craftycatz-get-well-soon-challenge.html

Newest Cards

This card was used in the Sisterhood of Crafters Blog "Things to be Thankful For" Challenge

This is just another simple card that can be used for anything.

I
I've had these frog stickers for the longest time and when I found paper to match it I came up with this card. I hope you enjoy it!

Mr. Roboto

Now I'm in love with the stamp set the robot is apart of! It's got cool sayings, gears, and several different robots. I used black brads for the flowers and not all of them have pop-up stickers underneath them.

This card is also entered into this challenge here: http://paperromancechallenges.blogspot.com/2010/11/paper-romance-challenge-25.html

Flower Thank You Card

I used really thin string to tie the bow for this card and the circle that says thank you has a pop-up sticker underneath it. I've been using my pop-up stickers a lot lately.

Sympathy Card

This is a sympathy card I created today.

New Restaurant of Choice and Much More

While the guys were working on the flooring downstairs I went out with my best friend for lunch to get away from the noise. We love trying new places and Cheeburger Cheeburger was one of the places we tried out this week. If you haven't been and there's one in your area I highly suggest it. We got to mix what flavors we wanted for our drnks, pick our sauces, the toppings we wanted for our sandwiches, and of course our sides. If you're ordering a side I suggest sharing it. Ours was enough for probably four people! Leftover onion rings and fries will go great with dinner tonight.

On the topic of paper I've been overlooking the current challenges and looking at different card layouts so hopefully I can work on that this evening after they're done with the flooring. There are so many ideas running through my head.

My friend Robert asked me to edit one of his stories so I'm currently working on that today as well. How can I say no to a fellow writer? It's definitely different from what I normally read, but I'm enjoying it. I'm loving the subtle quirky humor and the creativeness of it.

That's all I've got for now I'll update everyone again very soon!

Packing Up

I hope everyone is having a great week so far. Mine has been pretty busy, but I'll just tell you about some of the highlights so far.

I just found out today the majority of my scrapbook/cardmaking materials are going to be boxed up here soon until close to January. Unfortunately that'll mean less crafting for awhile. I'll be back full force next year with tons of cool crafty pictures. For now the stuff needs to be put away so the craft room can be painted and so on. I need to find other things to write about and post!! At least I'll have my photography to fall back on. I'm hoping to get a bunch of pictures in the next two weeks when my best friend and I hang out.

Good news: I'll finish my Christmas tags soon and have more cards to post as well!!!! There are five sitting on my table that I'm still deciding what else I want to add to them. They seem to be missing something, but I'm unsure of what at the moment.

Hope everyone is gearing up for Thanksgiving that's approaching fast. I found out today one of my uncle's is going to come! I swear I was jumping up and down with excitement and smiling from ear to ear like a little girl when I got the news. My sister will also be home and my grandparents are going to come visit as well so there's lots of things to do to get ready.

Tomorrow we're getting new flooring put into the kitchen and in the living room. At the moment the house is a bit chaotic, but it should die down soon.

Below are two pictures out of a large amount I took at Maymont a few months ago and one is of my dog Moka who has gotten a lot of my attention the last few months. You can click to make the pictures larger. The pictures make me miss the beautiful Summer weather as it's starting to get cooler. Although, I'm loving the fact the leaves have changed colors.

random

As you can see I've posted two of my scrapbook pages and I'll post more as I make them. Also, you'll see pictures and random thoughts of mine time to time.

If you see more than one post for a certain day I probably entered something in it into a card challenge for that week. I've entered two contests for this week.

The stickers and the smaller paper I got from a mixed scrapbook kit that I've been using for various things. The pictures on the pages were taken a few months back at the Monster Ball concert in Charlottesville, VA. The stamped card below I got in a set from Michaels Craft Store.

Aside from crafting I found out my paperwork is going to be finalized in the next few days so I'll officially be a substitute teacher! So if I seem to disappear a day or two from my blog don't worry that just means I'll have a ton of news to share when I return.

Picture Cards

What can be better than combining two hobbies? I love combining my love of photography with my love of cards.

Filing system

Since I've accumulated a large amount of homemade cards I've decided to get a filing box to store them in. I labeled everything by occassion.  I'm pretty much set for awhile and need to start finding ways to use up my cards. Maybe I should file my ATCs and my postcard collections the same way. What do you think?

Step #1: Buy a file box, tabs, and labels
Step #2: Label the sections by what types of cards that you create! I used Thinking of You, Get Well Soon, Christmas, Sympathy, Birthday, Easter, and Halloween
Step #3: Organize your cards into each section

First Update

Well since my other blog is currently experiencing problems I decided to create a new one. This blog will hold my thoughts, my scrapbook layout, handmade cards, and anything else I do. Below are just some of what I worked on recently. You can click on my pictures and see a larger image. Also, I set my settings so if any family member or anyone in general who isn't a member feel free to do so!
